Internet of Things and its Applications

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the billions of interconnected devices around the world connected through and to the internet using Wi-Fi or censors. These activities have a direct and significant impact on a company’s revenue. IoT is seeing rapid growth as more businesses are relying on it for operations.

In the coming years IoT is predicted to be used for building smart cities which will have parking sensors connected to mobile apps enabling drivers to find open parking spots, video cameras on smart streetlights, weather sensors, and even gunshot detection devices. Cities will benefit in terms of energy efficiency and cost reduction with IoT solutions. A smart city will also be a safer city with better traffic regulation, emergency systems that are more efficient, and faster police action.
